The last fashion show inspired by Amy Winehouse. In good taste or not? Is that really a tribute to very talented and unique singer? or just marketing campaign (by the way very successfull because the whole fashion world is talking about it) but still if it is marketing campaign, does Jaun Paul Gaultier really need that kind of movement? he is already famous, established and iconic designer, so what is the point?
Some of the project for example the white-bride dress is giving me very mixed feelings... and the view of very happy designer after the show is also quite confusing. As we remeber Amy died in tragic circumstances, so I understand why her family is shocked about that.. it had to be very awful for her friends and family to see.. the model similar to Amy in bride dress...
whats your opinion?
Love this collection. Your new follower :)

I think it was too early to do this as her friends and family are still suffering.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't a fan of Winehouse as I totally hate artists that seem to think that its ok to take drugs and get extremely drunk... but its their choice to do it and my choice to hate them.

I really like the collection and I'm quite sure Amy would have loved it,
ReplyDeletebut it should have been more of a tribute at the end for example
without the designer running happily down the catwalk ;)
..and all of her collection for Fred Perry is being donated, don't think JPG will donate anything?

Amy's style is not one of my favourites, but I like her music. Gaultier's show is not indifferent.

Amy's death saddened me a lot...she was a great artist and it's such a shame she wasted her life like that, wish she could have saved herself, it's a big loss. I also have mixed feelings about Gaultier's fashion show...maybe he just wanted to pay homage to Amy but surely it must have been weird for her family and close friends...

I think it is a great tribute to such an iconic person, but as you pointed out perfectly, he could have been a bit more careful and most of all more tasteful.

I think it was a brilliant idea since it turned out successful. If it's a tribute, it doesn't mean we have to mourn about how she died. The show just revealed how fashionable Amy Winehouse was, in terms of style. Anyways, thanks for popping over my blog. Yeah, sure we can follow each other. I'm following yours. I hope to see u on my GFC darling. :)
